Diversity Infusion Project: History survey courses
Five history professors will look at infusing History survey courses with resources that more deeply explore diverse perspectives on historical events. The organizing principle for the project will be to move somewhat away from breadth toward depth of coverage, allowing students to develop deeper understandings of important historical topics, themes, and questions. Diversity Infusion Project: General Statistics
General Statistics (MTH 112), part of Elon’s core curriculum, will soon be infused with new modules that focus on diversity. By incorporating current data sets that address local and global diversity issues into the curriculum students will learn about both statistics and the variety of human experience. Diversity Infusion Project: Sport and Event Management
The Department of Sport and Event Management has developed a Diversity Inclusion Mentoring Program. With a database of over 35 regional minority leaders in the industry, the department is able to deepen conversations about diversity within the field while also creating meaningful relationships between students and working professionals. Diversity Infusion Project: Developmental Psychology
Three Elon psychology faculty have created 15 modules and an annotated resource guide to teaching about how culture and context affect psychological development. These materials were used in one section of Lifespan Development (PSY 240) in the Spring 2012 semester and will be tested in a more formal pilot during the Fall 2012 semester. FollowShare on Tumblr
Diversity Infusion Project: Introduction to Psychology
Six faculty worked through the 2011-2012 academic year to create topic-specific units to infuse diversity into the Introduction to Psychology (PSY 111) curriculum and to develop a compendium of resources for faculty who teach this course. Diversity Infusion Project: The Art and Science of Helping
Three Human Service Studies professors are collaborating to infuse The Art and Science of Helping (HSS111) curriculum with a concentration on the importance and implications of human difference. Diversity Infusion Project: Communications in a Global Age
A group of Communications faculty have created an archive of teaching materials that integrate diversity into the Communications curriculum. Building on the School of Communications’ Diversity Plan and with support from the Diversity Infusion Project, this resource supports Communications students learning their discipline in the context of our complex global society.
