Two PWR Seniors Inducted into Elon’s Phi Beta Kappa Chapter

Elon’s Newest Members of Phi Beta Kappa

Congratulations are in order for PWR seniors Mary Kate Hinshaw and Kate E. Kinney who were two of the fifty-three Elon University students inducted into Phi Beta Kappa on April 16. Phi Beta Kappa, which is the oldest and often considered the nation’s most prestigious honor society in the country, has only established chapters at 280 colleges and universities all over the country. At the 280 institutions of higher learning where Phi Beta Kappa chapters have been established, which only compromise 10 percent of those in the nation, the society selects the top 10 percent of arts and sciences graduates for membership each year.

Both Hinshaw and Kinney will be presenting during Celebrate! next week. You can see these exceptional students’ presentations on Tuesday, April 22 in KOBC 242 between 10:40 and 12:00 or Thursday, April 26 during the Professional Writing and Rhetoric Showcase, which is from 2:30-4:00 in the CUPID Studio (Alamance 318).
