Not going to lie, I was looking forward to this class probably more than any others. I’ve always had an appreciation of art, so I was excited to learn about the theories and movements, but I was also excited to learn more about what I could create. While I probably have more research to do on my own, I feel confident in being able to go into an interview knowing the top 10 graphic designers and what the art of typography really is.

This class has also introduced me to all the different types of careers out there in visual communications. I really enjoyed our motion typography project and seeing those skills put into a professional setting by looking at movie trailers. Like I said in a previous blog post, I never even really thought about the work that goes into those kinds of projects, but wow, those people work hard! I think the way people interact with visual content transcends deeper than most think. The way someone responds to an emotional PSA or even a suspenseful movie trailer brings out the human aspect in what could otherwise just be entertainment.

I had never considered art direction as a career before and now that is something I am really looking into and excited about, so I attribute a lot of that interest to this class. So thank you; really enjoyed it!
