Come so far but we got so far to go

Watching this video the first thing I thought was, “whoa, look at how old that interface is!” Comparing this to my new iOS7 interface it’s almost like it’s a completely different phone.  While some may see this as a negative, I think this is extremely positive.  I am a huge believer that technology and style will evolve and most of the time, I think it’s a positive change.

While some people are complaining about the new iOS7 interface, I am extremely thrilled about it, especially just having watched this video of what it used to look like.  Tufte complained that the iOS interface looked too “cartoony” and I hate to say this, but I kind of agree with him.  However, it’s this style that drew millions of people to be iPhone users.  The iPhone could have pretty much any style they wanted when they first came out because they were the most revolutionary smart phone on the market.  But now, they are in a fierce competition with Andriod users and now have to be more conscious of their style.  I’m not sure whether or not Tufte would like the new style of the iOS7 interface, especially since it’s a lot of bright colors that he may think is “cartoony.” However, I think it will be interesting to see whether the iPhone or Android will become king of the smart phone world.
