Story of Stuff

When viewing The Story of Stuff organization website, I was quickly reminded that I had seen the 20-minute video Story of Stuff in the past, which from the start showed me that these videos are memorable.  These videos were an innovative idea to get there message out to the world in a viewer friendly manner.  The videos use drawn visuals that take viewers step by step through complicated processes’ many are unfamiliar with.  The use of illustrations is important because hearing and seeing these processes can better etch them into our minds, and help us retain the information better.

The dialogue written for each story is also excellent.  The dialogue gives clear definitions, and delivers them to our ears in a friendly tone.  The dialogue were also hearing is very informational, but also explains how everything relates back to us.  In the end, these videos don’t just explain an issue they also offer solutions, and tips our how to better the situations.

The design layout of the overall page is set to a friendly tone, which is welcoming and inviting for users of the page.  The layout is very understandable and easy to navigate and understand for users, with many icons and logos looking hand-drawn which adds more personality to the website.  With the site offering information many different ways ( i.e. blogs, movies, podcasts, etc.) it allows users to choose which medium they want to hear this message through.
