Expectations

I really am very excited about this class. Since I come from a background that is pretty much the furthest thing from visual aesthetics, this class will undoubtedly enable me to succeed in the program. I have always been interested in graphic design and I want to know the elements and aspects to look for and what exactly makes design appealing. My hope is to learn the vital elements in creating an aesthetically pleasing font, logo and especially webpage. This way, I will be able to understand the language and provide a useful and educated critique of not only my own work, but other’s as well. Since I have very limited education in art, I am excited to learn about it’s history and how it is incorporated into the design and aesthetics of interactive media. However, I am thrilled to actually create things. This is definitely going to be challenging for me, but it will be extremely refreshing to have something to show for my hard work and time.
