Forget the Films, Watch the Titles!

I really liked this week’s videos for the blog. I was at the theater Friday watching Thor 3D and I was so impressed with the work of the graphics.  I spent the weekend thinking about how great it would be to have a job making motion graphics for movies and then you gave us this blog assignment.

There were so many title sequences to choose from so I decided to watch “Forget the Films, Watch the Titles,” the top 10 most viewed in 2012. Some of the videos I watched included X-Men First Class (2011), XXX State of the Union (2005), Seven (1995), True Blood (2008), and Enter the Void (2012).

Overall, these were all very cool motion graphic designs.  I have never seen the movie Seven before but I knew it was a scary movie.  I definitely got the creepy feeling from the title sequence.  Enter the Void was psychedelic and difficult to watch. This video had great use of words and color but I would have liked to see video or pictures included. My favorite was XXX. I love how they used the real pictures and transitioned into digital pictures. While that was moving, text was playing along also. I almost cannot explain why I liked it so much, I just thought it was awesome!

I am inspired more now to learn how to make motion graphics and not as afraid to do Assignment 5.
