Story of Stuff

I really enjoyed exploring this website. I really like the layout and design of it. I felt that the design really matched the aspects that the site was trying to portray. All of their icons and navigation buttons look as if they are hand drawn. This matches the themes of there movies. I explored the site and saw that they have a lot to say. I love how they get their points across. This project uses a bunch of different mediums to get the users attention and to keep their attention while they teach them about the different problems in the world.

I watched the movie “cap and trade” and loved it. I loved how the movie was narrated and you watched little stick figures act out what the narrator was talking about. I realized that I was more intrigued by the characters then I was by the lady standing off to the side talking. I ended up retaining a lot of the information because I was about to see it played out a long with hearing what was going on.

I also had a lot of fun listening to some of the podcasts. I realized that I was able to retain more of what they were saying through the podcast then I would have it I had to read it. I believe they have found new interactive ways to help get their message across.

The design of the website is very cool to me. I love the fact that everything looks hand drawn. It looks like someone stuck there sketch book and placed it on my monitor screen. I wish more websites were designed in this way. There is a sense of freshness in this design and I really like it. I also like that the site had many clickable button. One can see that there is a lot to do on this websites which will then keep them on the website.

Between the subtle blues, and child like drawings I really enjoyed exploring this site. This site is very appealing to both the eyes and to the heart. I am very surprised that I have yet to hear about this incredible website.
