While I took some design classes as an undergrad, I was more focused on writing the copy that would accompany it rather than spending my hours in Photoshop. But, since those two things are often so closely linked, I have been able to develop a strong appreciation for good designs; especially those that communicate without any text. It is fascinating how typography, logos and even basic colors can create an emotional connection to a brand and an area I want to further explore. Analyzing what makes a design successful is something I am actually looking forward to discovering. Society is continuously changing their perception of art and what they find visually stimulating. Through this course, I want to learn how to most effectively present ideas and stories in creative ways. More importantly, I want to leave with a skill set that allows me to adapt and succeed no matter the setting or style.
