Erika’s Great Expectations

I am extremely excited to start Visual Aesthetics this semester.  During my last semester of senior year, I dabbled with some Photoshop and After Effects but I never really went further than just a basic understanding.  Design is probably one of my weakest areas but I really want to learn more and conquer Adobe once and for all!  What I’m really excited about learning is typography.  I’ve seen fantastic infographics and motion infographics on the web and I really want to learn how to create visually stunning infographics.  I have a work inspiration board on Pinterest that I love to update with infographics like this. So despite what everyone thinks of Pinterest, it’s not just a site to re-pin girly things (although Ryan Gosling may have been re-pinned up on my account once or twice.  Oh well, I regret nothing.).  Since I have a video background, I mostly used Photoshop and After Effects for things like lower thirds and green screens.  I really want to expand my knowledge and be able to create some fantastic pieces of work.
