Hi! My name is Emma Bassett, I am a sophomore majoring in Marketing in International Business. I decided to take this class because it was most intriguing to me out of the global studies courses that would count for my International Business major. At Elon I have been involved in Habitat for Humanity, Elonthon, and a program called Lunch Buddies. I have a passion for volunteer work, and working alongside of others to better the community around me.
Last year, in my COR 110 class we read several books that helped us to learn a-lot about the socioeconomic groups who use illegal drugs, like the modern day opioid user, drug trafficking, and the chemical makeup of such drugs. These were topics that I have never been formally educated on and it really piqued my interest and curiosity.
Although I have not taken a class that would directly relate to this one, I am excited to learn more and expand my knowledge and understanding on what is means to be a Global Citizen.
