Introduction

Hi everyone! My name is Kate and i’m a senior majoring in psychology with minors in communications and sociology. During the past 3 years at Elon, I have been involved with Elonthon, Younglife, New Student Orientation, and working for the Office of Advancement. With one semester left at Elon and needing to finish my minor, I saw this class and it grabbed my attention immediately. I have always been interested in traveling and other cultures, but have never taken a class that dives deeper into some of these aspects. I think that this course will challenge me, as I haven’t taken one like it while here at Elon, but the idea of “global citizenship” has always intrigued me and I would love to learn more about it.

While my COR110 class was 3 years ago and I admit that I am having trouble remembering the specifics of it, I do remember diving into aspects of global citizenship. We talked about a range of topics dealing with international policies and current events. I remember really enjoying aspects of it that dealt with global citizenship and would love to expand my knowledge by taking this class.

While I haven’t taken classes directly dealing with topics of this course besides my COR110 class, I have taken several psychology and sociology classes for my major and minor including Criminology, Gender and Crime, Criminal Behavior, & Quantitative Research Methods that may intersect a bit with this class.Image may contain: 2 people, including Kate Hermsmeyer, people smiling, people standing, mountain, sky, outdoor and nature

I found this video to be extremely powerful and well-made!
