TODAY: Campus Visit from Class of 2015 Partner

Today, April 22nd, Christine Buchholz from the Restavek Freedom Foundation, the Class of 2015’s partner organization in Haiti, is visiting campus! She will be giving a presentation at 7 pm in Moseley 215 about the sociocultural, historical-political, and legal aspects of the restavek system in Haiti, as well as the ways in which students can make a difference regarding this issue. Come hear her speak tonight to support the Class of 2015 and the Restavek Freedom Foundation!

Pericleans Around the World

Recognize that logo and the Periclean Scholar?

Sarah Naiman, ’12, noticed the photo below as she was researching Fulbright opportunities and sent Dr. Arcaro this email:

Hi Dr. Arcaro,

You might already be aware but just in case… I am applying for a Fulbright and I went to the general Fulbright page and the picture in the header was the back of someone wearing a Periclean Shirt. Just shows how much influence the program has even beyond what we are aware of.

He was fairly sure that the person in the photo must be Natalie Lampert, ’11, and when emailed she responded:

It is me 🙂  That was taken in Kathmandu last December, during an afternoon hike that was part of our week-long Fulbright ETA Regional Enrichment Seminar. It was an amazing week — Nepal is incredible. Please tell Sarah to email me if she would like any advice in applying for a Fulbright!

Busy bees and good music

The Project Pericles program at Elon University has a great team: Dr. Arcaro, Dr. Arangala, and all the Class mentors. I’m lucky I get to work with them as Project Pericles’ Program Assistant! I enjoy my work with Periclean because I get to be creative. I design posters, create youtube videos, and edit the website and the Periclean newsletter. I have a great student team and we enjoy being busy bees and listening to good music. Please don’t hesitate to email me at cparsons@elon.edu if we can help in any way!
