Hello! My name is Kate Wenzler and I am a sophomore here at Elon. Currently, I am planning on majoring in management and minoring in sociology. On campus, I am involved in the student health group, SPARKS.
I decided to take this course for a few reasons. First, Elon stresses the importance of having a global perspective; something unique to our university and should be embraced. I see the benefits of having a general sense of the reality of what is going on within the world. Secondly, I decided to take this class as my brother has recently enlisted in the army. The topics in this course, such as the threat of ISIS, will help me better understand the experiences my brother will be going through.
Classes I have taken that will help guide me through Being/Becoming Global Citizens are Intro Into Sociology and Quantitative Research Methods. With these classes, I have been provided with a background in both sociology and anthropology.
