Beyond the assignments – extra credit #1

Beyond the assignments – extra credit #1

This post is optional
If you complete this post by the due date you will be given extra credit on your class participation grade (10% of your overall grade in the class).

Rubric

  • Due date March 22nd by midnight.
  • No length or citations/references requirement, though what you submit should match the average blog posts you have been submitting.
  • This need not be an overall coherent essay.  Indeed, it could (and should, perhaps) be small bits after several classes, not just one big ‘dump.’
  • This may work best if you start a draft now and simple keep adding until the due date.

Prompt
Frequently in class we touch on topics -big and small- that are not directly related to what you have been assigned to write about in your ‘normal’ blog posts.  Each of you comes to this class from different academic and life experience places, and thus each of you takes something different from each class.

This extra credit blog post is a place where you can put notes, ideas, reactions, comments, observations, and extra research you have done as part of your growth and learning in this class.  These can and should include thoughts about any of our guest speakers, side topics that we touch on, current news items (both domestic and global) and how they relate to course material.  Above all, this should be a place where you feel free to add in what you are learning.
