Honda Power Equipment Visit

Today, our class visited the Honda Power Equipment Manufacturing Company in Swepsonville, NC.  The massive facility employs over 1000 workers who work in various departments including production, casting, and assembly. The worker-bee attitude of all of the employees makes Honda an honorable and rewarding experience for all who work there.

 

What is Honda’s mission?

The mission of Honda Equipment Manufacturing (HEM) is to produce quality products as reasonable prices to ensure customer satisfaction. Their global attitude has allowed the company to expand and open manufacturing locations all across the globe. This global perspective allows the company to market its products all over the world to customers who have a demand for them in different parts of the globe.

 

Who is the Honda Customer?

The Honda customer is just a regular person. Someone who owns a home perhaps, who would have need for a lawn mower of a snow thrower. These necessary products are all part of taking care of landscaping around homes and are important to always be kept in stock at the locations where they are sold. Another customer of Honda is actually Honda’s competitors. As strange as it may seem, Honda supplies its products such as parts and engines to other producers of Lawn mowers and Snow throwers to be put in their own products.

 

What does the Honda Customer value?

The Honda customer values quality products. The products designed an HME are designed to last and double checked for quality. After visiting the assembly line portion of the facility, it is obvious that the people who assemble the products really care about what they do. Although the work is not easy, it its because of their hard work that Honda Power Equipment products are so durable and reliable. This extreme attention to detail and quality allows customers to develop and value trust in their purchases of Honda products, as well as the company as a whole.

 

What are their results?

Honda has found much success in their practices thus far. With facilities located across the globe, their world wide brand is known for having produced some of the most efficient and reliable products on the market today. By placing an importance on creating and shipping out products efficiently and quickly, Honda has been successful in increasing the number of products that they produce each year from the manufacturing facility.

 

What is their plan?

Honda’s plan is to keep doing what they are doing, but do it better. This mentality will allow them to keep making updates and improvements to their already reliable products as well as allow them to produce more. By creating products that are more user friendly, with newly designed features, their products will never go out of style and will always maintain a constant demand.
