Credit Suisse was founded in 1856 and its headquarters are in Zurich, Switzerland. Credit Suisse provides companies, institutional clients and high-net worth private clients worldwide, as well as retail clients in Switzerland, with: advisory services, comprehensive solutions, and excellent products. Their mission to leverage geographic diversity and new sources of talent to create a cost effective global business support center that provides both operational and technological resilience.

Credit Suisse’s customers vary from private banking and wealth management to investment banking. In private banking they are focused on the individual and trying to provide tailored services for high-net-worth clients. While investment banking is very institutionally focused, Credit Suisse is very prevalent throughout the world. They have 42 offices in over 14 different countries, with 60% of their workforce outside of Switzerland.

Credit Suisse’s customers value their ability to make money when they work with Credit Suisse. Credit Suisse’s clients expect continual gains in their funds throughout the years. They also love the stability that Credit Suisse provides. During the 2008 financial crisis, Credit Suisse retained its assets much better than their competitors.

Since opening in 1856 Credit Suisse has grown to be a global banking leader. At the end of 2012 their total assets was 924.28 billion CHF with a profit of 1.69 billion CHF. Credit Suisse has over 47,000 employees.

What is their plan?

Credit Suisse’s plan is to focus on international growth strategy. They plan to do this by focusing on fast growing markets, large onshore markets, and ultra high-net-worth individual client segment. They are also planning on improving their efficiency.
