The mission of Elon is “Elon University embraces its founders’ vision of an academic community that transforms mind, body, and spirit and encourages freedom of thought and liberty of conscience.” The mission changes every nine years though it stays consistent with Elon Universities commitment to the student. In twenty years the degree will be worth more than it is now due to the various plans and changes in the mission statement over the years. The customers of Elon are hard-working students who want to attend a prestigious school and get a good degree. Elon is tuition driven, which means the students make the budget. Elons’ students value the great academics and administrative pursuits that they offer.
The results of Elon University are a very successful students graduating the University and also an amazing amount of growth over the years. Elon has tripled in size over the years. They originated with a $6 million dollar budget but ended last year with a $211 million dollar budget.
Elon has a plan going forward. Elon is in the midst of overhauling the campus and renovating and adding new buildings. They make 9 year plans but strive to have them completed in about 5 or 6 years. Elon is also striving to create a better downtown to offer a more attractive downtown to prospective students.
