Today we visited Honda Power Equipment and learned all about the company Honda is a world leader in developing fuel efficient, good quality engines used for power equipment such as a lawn mower. Honda does a good job treating their employees with respect. Our presenter even said for all the years he’d been working for Honda, he had never heard anyone yell at him or any other employees for making a mistake. The employees at HPE are efficient with their time as they are constantly playing a specific role in the assembly line used to produce the engines. One thing our presenter emphasized was the care Honda had for it’s employees. For example, if someone were to ever get hurt in their facility, Honda would conduct a lot of research to hopefully prevent future risks to others.

The customer for HPE is mainly Home Depot because they are the only store that sells Honda Power Equipment besides themselves. The real customer’s are the people buying things like lawn mowers all over the world. When the real estate market is up, generally HPE is selling a lot of equipment because many people purchase power equipment when they move into a new home.

Customers of Honda Power Equipment value the quality of Honda engines and expect these engines to last a long time while being fuel-efficient. Although Honda Power Equipment is a but pricier than competing brands, the money is paying for he better quality that Honda provides.

What are the results?
Over the years, the results have been successful. Honda is constantly making in appearance in consumer reports as the top engine for power equipment. Honda is also doing a great job producing high quality vehicles that can last up to 25 years on the road. Their total sales in 2013 were slightly over$284 million in 2013, with room for improvement this coming year.

What is their plan?
The plan for Honda is to keeping working on their engines to make them even more fuel efficient than before. The more fuel efficient, the more appealing for customers because they won’t end up spending as much on the equipment to maintain. Honda is a company with a bright future looking to expand in 2014.
