Center for Creative Leadership

Today we had the opportunity to visit the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro North Carolina, where we toured the organization with the manager of the Education Sector Deborah Friedman. The Center for Creative Leadership reaches more than 120 countries from locations on four continents. The non-profit organization specializes in engaging leaders to act beyond the boundaries that limit their effectiveness. For over 40 years the Center for Creative Leadership has been accelerating strategies and business results for clients trying to achieve their full leadership potential.

 

1. What is CCL’s mission?

The organization conducts research, produces publications and provides a wide variety of educational programs to leaders and organizations in public, corporate, and nonprofit sectors. Their missions is to advance the understanding and development of leadership for many different organizations. They have the freedom to focus the success of their clients, consistent with their mission – to advance the understanding, practice and development of leadership for the benefit of society worldwide.

2. Who is the customer?

Nearly 21,000 leaders from 3000 organizations engage with CCL every single year to engage in their programs. These organizations are located all over the world with CCL’s in Greensboro, N.C., San Diego, CA, Brussels Belgium, Russia and CIS, and Singapore.

5. What is CCL’s plan?

The CCL’s 2011-2012 annual report asks the question “Whats next for leadership?, with 5 big ideas incorporated into the question. The big ideas to answer are to get your brain in the game, expand the leadership equation, nurture your networks, power up nonprofit partnerships and elevate coaching impact. Their plan is to provide leaders for the future with the appropriate leadership techniques. These leadership techniques change from country to country with the different cultures and the CCL tries to cater to these differences.
