Today we had the opportunity to visit Glen Raven fabric company in Glen Raven North Carolina where we were able to tour the international companies textile facilities and learn about their operations. Glen Raven has three divisions inside the company and we were able to hear from people working in each division. The three divisions are Custom Fabrics worldwide, Technical Fabrics worldwide, and Trivantage. The company has a strong global presence with manufacturing locations, distributing locations, and sales locations all over the globe. This textile company is in many different industries ranging from the automotive industry, to mining and filtration, to the military.
The vision of Glen Raven is “Let Endless Possibilities Begin” and they strive diligently to live up to their vision by promoting innovation and efficiency. The mission of the company is to enhance life for global customers with the worlds most innovative fabric-based, market driven solutions. There are flaws in products produced in almost every industry and Glen Raven works hard to try and provide solutions to these problems in a cost-effective way. The company provided the fabric for sports jerseys such as the NFL, but needed to adapt quickly to the changing world. Instead of looking at what they can produce the quickest, they looked at what the world and its customers really needed. They want to find a niche where they can promote their brand and have top quality materials, not just something that they can produce for the least amount of money. This is how they find their customers. Today, the company is thriving producing fabric and materials for many different industries and large corporations, including the government. In North America, about 65 percent of the cars produced have Glen Raven product in them. Glen Raven wants to continue to expand their customer base.
