As you may have experienced, connecting to the internet while visiting other colleges and universities can be a challenge. Now, with the help of eduroam, the Office of Information Technology (IT) looks to make the process seamless for Elon faculty, staff, students and visitors. eduroam logo

A roaming wireless access service for educational communities, eduroam allows you to connect to secure Wi-Fi at a number of participating institutions using your Elon login credentials. This free access eliminates the need for temporary guest accounts and the use of unsecured public Wi-Fi.

To use the service, locate ‘eduroam’ among the wireless network listings of the institution that you’re visiting. Then, sign in using your full Elon email address and password.

Similarly, campus visitors should locate ‘eduroam’ among Elon’s wireless network listings. Then, sign in using their full institution email address and password.

Access to eduroam is available in academic and administrative buildings across main campus, the Francis Center and the law school.

While on Elon’s campus, continue to use ‘elonu-secure’ to connect to the internet. The eduroam service is only available for your use while on other participating campuses.

Visit the eduroam website to learn more about the service.
