February Capstone Dinner

FebCapstone dinner

We had our first Capstone Dinner of the semester this past Monday! Turnout was not as quite as high as we hoped but everyone that attended enjoyed themselves. We began the night with a few introductions and brief announcements about upcoming requirements for the semester. Everyone then enjoyed a pasta dinner, while chatting with the people at their table about legacy projects, current classes and life after Elon.

These dinners are a great time for ICLP members to catch up with their peers that they do not get to see regularly due to hectic schedules.

As people finished dinner, our guest speaker began. We were honored to have Tait Arend, the Associate Director of Major Gifts here at Elon, come and speak. He used to work closely with the Center for Leadership and is quite familiar with the program. His presentation focused on educating members on how to market themselves using the skills that they have developed over the past four years in the program. He gave participants the opportunity to practice elevator speeches based on potential interview questions that they will likely be asked in the future. All of his recommendations were very practical and were universally helpful to everyone in attendance. Phase IV members were fully engaged during the presentation and they asked several thought-provoking questions. Overall, this was an awesome experience that benefited everyone in attendance! I look forward to future Capstone Dinners!
