20 Things I Thought I Already Knew

Being a millennial and living in such a tech savvy generation I thought I knew all there was about the basics of the Internet and how our devices functioned. I am use to being the one with all the answers when my parents ask how to utilize their iPhones and explore the online world on their iPad. However, after reading “20 Things I Learned About Browsers & The Web” I realized I had a lot more understanding to do.

In the past I have always ignored the pop-ups that appear on my computer informing me of new upgrades. I now realize the importance of modern browsers and have already seen the difference when browsing the web. I never knew how hard browsers work to help protect people against malware and phishing.

I personally was having an issue with “cookies” on my computer the other day and was confused as to what the problem was and how to fix it. It was almost fate that we were assigned this piece because after our reading I understood what a cookie was and why I was having such a hard time… cookies and memory overload!! With a clearer understanding of the web and browsers I feel that I am more productive in a much safer environment.

This was also one of the most interesting styles of an online piece that I have ever read! Who doesn’t love a good virtual story book?
