Growth and Opportunity?

The growth of Vietnam can be seen in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Big side walks, walk in stores, and a more diverse atmosphere makes Saigon very unique. Most of the buildings are extremely nice and very modern. We definitely are getting more of a business experience here rather than a cultural experience since their are a large number of shopping malls and business buildings rather than propaganda and historical relics. A lot more people speak english here likely since this is the place to go for tourists. Here they have numerous bars, clubs, even bowling. This definitely seems to be a young person town and is a great place for the younger generation in Vietnam to thrive.

I would say that this trip has really opened my eyes to the harsh realities of the world outside the United States. Though people are generally happy here and seem to love their country, they simply do not know any other life. We have so many wonderful opportunities and chances to succeed in the west while I feel like very few people here have even half the number of chances we do.
All the corruption is really disturbing as well. People generally don’t pay their taxes. The government is incredibly biased towards the cities and towards the wealthier people and government officials.

All I can say is God Bless America!
