In the Converge South breakout session “Making a Living Through Blogging,” presenter Gaspare Marturano, shared his how-to list for building “MAD” blogging skills.

-Read.
-Write everyday.
-Brush up on grammar and style.
-Cultivate creativity. Have fun with writing.
-Collect tools and resources – keep a stockpile.
-Conduct research – thoughtful research.
-Develo process – proofread, edit and revise.
-Get the blog out. Email family and friends, ask friends to share, Tweet, Linkdin, Facebook, community groups, guest blog and accept guests posts, attend and host events.

When your blog is up and going, visit Commission Junction at cj.com to set up ads for your site. While it is nearly impossible to earn a living from blogging, it is not impossible to use blogging to improve your business image, increasing your business network and indirectly improve your sales.

btw,  “Weblog was coined by John Barger in 1997. Two years later the term was shortened to “blog” by Peter Merholz. Today, blogs are used to build credibility, increase visibility, create unique positioning, branding and general communication with customers and broad audiences. Above all, Marturano advises that whether your blog is personal or business, it should always be in your personal voice.
