Let’s wrap this up…

…with a quote from the man himself.

“If there is one quality all designers should have, it is stubbornness.” – Phillip Motley

Don’t worry, I took more from this quote than to just design with blinders on. I think the biggest thing I learned about aesthetics and design from this class is that everyone has their own tastes and never are they identical to someone else’s. Is there generally good and bad design? Yes, of course. But everyone’s particular taste is in fact different. So to design with stubbornness is not to design without critique, but rather filtered critique and to stick to your guns without going down with the ship. Striking the balance between pure-vision and actual execution (especially when designing for a client). And the last thing, is a thought from someone with much more wisdom than myself, Ira Glass.

Ira Glass

Design ability, technique, and execution doesn’t come over night. It takes iteration after iteration and practice with more practice.
