Reaction: Understanding Web Design

            This article was a really interesting look at the purpose of web design.  I think that a lot of people (and companies) look at the web as just an internet extension of print.  In reality, the web has so much more potential in nearly every way.  Unfortunately, those people stuck in the old ways of thinking are the ones dictating much of the web design that is occurring.  Thus, a lot of websites are not nearly as innovative or unique as they could and should be.  Its important to understand that an online news site is not a newspaper in digital format, but rather an entirely different way of disseminating information, and should be treated as such.  This will help me when I begin my own journey in web design to think outside the box.
