The Inclusion Principle article educated me about the important (and often overlooked) area of web accessibility. I always knew about inclusive design (both in web design and more generally), but the idea of universal design really made me think. When we can create a design that is equally accessible to everyone without detracting from the experience of the average user, we have achieved a powerful balance of design and functionality. This mindset can be applied to a lot of scenarios, but is very important in web publishing. Taking simple steps and thinking more universally can really help improve access and quality for everyone.
