The Cleaner the Better

I though the article “Why Does Clean Markup Matter in Web Design” was a good sum up of the issue–why clean markup up matters in web design. I wish there would have been some examples of typical clean markup mistakes, and I thought the Do’s and Don’ts section had the most important information.

While reading this article my first thoughts were to compare the idea of coding HTML and CSS to the basics of writing some kind of a paper. There are headings, paragraphs, fonts, indents, spaces, etc. just like there is in markup. Our professor from day one has said that coding HTML and CSS is like learning a new language. There are specific grammar rules to every language, that if not used correctly, would make the writing illegible. Same goes for markup. There is a syntax to coding HTML and CSS,  just like there is for writing a paper.
