Coding Up

This article reiterated a lot of information that we have already learned in this class.  It was rather lengthy and tedious.  However it did provide more detailed information about concepts we have already discussed and even used in this class.

There were two interesting topics that stood out to me in this article.  One was that the author used a few JPEG and PNG files to add graphic design elements rather than coding it in CSS and HTML.  It is relieving to know that this strategy is used even by the best coders because I myself am still more confident using Photoshop for a graphic piece – I know we should never use a JPEG or PNG image for text because it won’t show up in a browser search.  The other interesting thing I learned was how blogs are coded in HTML.  Because anybody can post anything on a blog, the div used for the blog section is a “class” and not an “id” tag.
