This email claims to be from Samaritan’s Purse, Intl. in need of locals for part-time positions during the COVID-19 crisis. Those interested are encouraged to apply by sending an email from their alternative account to the supposed HR representative. This is a phishing scam meant to capture your non-work email address and will inevitably lead to the scammers asking for more personal information.

Always be skeptical when receiving unsolicited offers such as this. Ask yourself if this type of email is something you would normally receive from the sender. Even if you think this is legitimate, find a way to contact the sender first before sending any information to an unknown email address. Promptly delete the email if you feel it is not legitimate and do not reply to the email. Visit the Information Security website to learn ways to identify phishing.
