WTF bro?

Even though we’re talking about a female here, this thought is what crossed my mind when I first started reading this chapter. She was all over the place and had me squinting at the computer more times than not. After reading the whole thing, I can understand where she is coming from and somewhat appreciate something like this. This section without question was non-linear but it was different and out of the ordinary and not censored and I kind of liked it. Being censored and following the rules and being linear in your writing is a part of the norm so it’s kind of nice when you see something that kind of goes left without remorse.  I was kind of all over the place with this writing but maybe that’s what Shelly wanted to happen all along. She defenitely succeeded if that was her goal from the outset.

Her writing was a form of hypertext which I’ve heard of in the past but never really knew what it meant. Writing without boundaries and saying whatever you want however you want is what hypertext is, in a nutshell. It really doesnt stop and just keeps moving and hardly gives your mind enough time to process everything in detail. This chapter was a perfect example of hypertext and something that as a graduate student, I probably could see myself doing.

In the end, Shelly was just being herself and writing on whatever she wanted to. While in the beginning, I said to myself “wtf bro? what is this chick talking about?”, at the end I understood that she was just expressing herself and not caring what other people thought about her and encouraging the readers to do the same. For that, I salute her.
