iPhone Interface Design

Who would have thought we would take it this far ? Im sure when Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone he could have never imagined that one day people would be employed to make graphic designs for a cellular device. This video is actually interesting in retrospect. Back in 2003 I purchased my 1st iPod, and I remember thinking to myself how could I improve this device. Back then the ipod was in black and white and had no graphics. It was basically a Nintendo Game Boy that played music. About 2 years later they added graphic design to the iPod which made the greatest change to the device. It still played music but it could do so much more now. This story just shows how much of a factor graphic design has on a product. I find it very interesting that simplicity plays a huge factor. We often want “the works” with our products but sometimes that is not the best idea. The weather example in the video showed and proved a great point of why simplicity is needed. Overal all, graphic design will be around forever and im curious to see whats next in the world of graphic design.
