The Inspiration of Design

One of the videos i looked at was Need vs. Want by Edwin Chan.  He talks about drawing inspiration from the Mandala. He also talks about how much we waste as humans and how there are so many things in life that we don’t need but yet feel the need to have. Returning back to the essence of who we are is what he tries to get across and not living life off of superficial or extra things.

I also looked at Anything is Possible by Paula Scher. She mentioned how design doesnt go off of solving problems. Problems emerge and people think about doing things better. She mentioned how there are several things that design should tackle and sometimes those problems and other conflicts that arise, are things that design can’t even answer.

The last video I watched was Around the World by Tina Roth Eisenberg. She mentioned how she learned from the Swiss in the sense of how they have a need to organize things in a particular order. She had mentioned how she would like to see what problems that design could solve next and how design combined with engineering could potentially help solve global problems.
