On Friday I had the honor to attend Converge South. This was a great opportunity that I took for advantage. There were alot of people there that shared the same common interest as I do. The people that attended the conference had different professions from nurses, to news writers, to just someone that uses the internet. It was great learning how people use the same tools (Facebook, twitter, photoshop, etc) to complete a job but in different ways. What really made my time at the conference worth while came from meeting Mr. Phillip Oakley with Common Giant (Creative). I met him from looking at this computer and noticing that he was working on info-graphics. I told him how we were working on some info graphics in this class and gave him some of my thoughts and ideas. He was very interested, gave me some pointers and told me to stay in contact with him. I really appreciate meeting people who are in places where I would like to be. Also meeting these people help reinforce what we are leaning in the classroom which helps me to tell myself to keep focus on class. Overall I enjoyed myself at the conference and If the conference in South Carolina is any better I know I would really appreciate it, and everything it has to offer.
