The Story of Stuff
I watched this info graphic/call to action and I really admired the work. First the Story of Stuff was very insightful. To capture the philosophical lessons of Gandhi like that with simple artwork and informal narration is no easy task, and the story of stuff executed this mission very tactfully. The artwork was very professional yet maintained a childlike feel so the viewer is possessed with an innocent sense of duty. The narrator did an adequate job, I feel as though she was a little abrasive but conveyed the information she needed to in a clear and organized fashion. I also really liked the over all sentiment of The Story of Stuff; that it’s not up to one person to change the world, it needs to the compounded actions of everyone. There are so many informational videos that I have watched that build the viewer to be a villain for not doing more to change the world, but the story of stuff dispels this worry and reassures that you are not a monster if your don’t buy green foods and drive a hybrid car.
