Summer reading on the Belk Kindles

Published by

Get started with your summer reading even before summer officially starts!  We’ve added 33 new titles to the Belk Library Kindles, bringing our total up to 126 books.  That’s one of the great things about e-book readers – all those books, and it still only weighs about 10 ounces.  Some highlights from this new collection include:

–Eight of the hardcover fiction and seven of the hardcover nonfiction bestsellers from the New York Times list And four books from our last round are still on the bestseller list, in case you missed them.

–A mix of genres: romances, mysteries, thrillers, humor, fantasy.  And what’s summer without a good baseball novel?  We’ve got Calico Joe by John Grisham.

–Why not get ready for Fall Convocation by reading or re-reading  Maya Angelou’s classic I know why the caged bird sings.  And we have next year’s Common Reading, Zeitoun by Dave Eggars.

–If you like Scandinavian mysteries, I recommend Misterioso, a great new Swedish police procedural.

–Did you see the movie?  Why not read Nicholas Sparks’ The Lucky One, Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven, or the orginal Sherlock Holmes stories?  And yes, we have all three volumes of the Hunger Games.

–We’ve added some more classics, all those books you think you read (or should have read) in school.  To name a few: Les Miserables, the complete works of Mark Twain, and one of the first detective novels ever written, Wilkie Collins’ The Woman in White.

For a complete list of all titles, check out our guide at http://elon.libguides.com/kindle For a list of titles by genre, select the “Kindle Titles” tab.  And click the link in the middle of the home screen to get in line for a Kindle today!
