Hours for opening weekend

Here are the library’s hours for the start of the semester:

Friday, August 26, is move-in day at Elon; the library will be open from 8 am to 5 pm. 

Saturday, August 27, the library will be open from 10 am to 5 pm. 

Sunday, August 28, the library will be open from noon until 11 pm.  The library will close to the public at 9 pm; Elon students and staff should use their Phoenix cards to enter the library from 9 to 11 pm.

Monday, August 29, the library will be open from 7:30 am until 11 pm.  The library will close to the public at 9 pm; Elon students and staff should use their Phoenix cards to enter the library from 9 to 11 pm.

Tuesday, August 30, the library will open at 7:30, and we will begin fall semester hours, including 24 hour access for Elon students and staff.

Library Summer Lunch series continues

Belk Library’s Summer Lunch Series continues!  These sessions are open to all faculty and staff (as well as family members and university retirees).

Belk Library has more than just books and journals that Elon students use to do their work.  There are hidden gems that you can use.  These informal sessions won’t have homework…just useful tips.  And fun!  Please join us at lunchtime; we’ll provide the drinks and desserts!

  • Time: Noon
  • Presenters: Shannon Tennant, Patrick Rudd, Betty Garrison
  • Location: Belk 113
  • Topics: the library has Kindles available for checkout, not to mention audiobooks and E-books, and NoveList for leisure reading recommendations.

Fourth of July weekend hours

Here is the library’s schedule for the Fourth of July weekend.

Friday, July 1, the library will be open 8 am to 5 pm.

Saturday, July 2, the library will be open noon to 5 pm.

Belk Library will be closed on Sunday, July 3.

Monday, July 4th, the library will be open 6 pm to 11 pm.  The library will close to the public at 9:00 pm; Elon Phoenix card holders can enter the library from 9 to 11 pm.

Tuesday, July 5, the library will resume regular summer hours.

Monday through Thursday: the library is open from 8 am to 11 pm.   The library will close to the public at 9 pm each night.  Students, faculty and staff with a valid Phoenix card can enter the library from 9 to 11 pm.

Friday: the library is open 8 am to 5:00 pm.

Saturday: the library is open from 9 am to 5 pm.

Sunday: the library is open in the evening from 6 pm to 11 pm.   The library will close to the public at 9 pm.  Students, faculty and staff with a valid Phoenix card  can enter the library from 9 to 11 pm. 

24 hour access for students and employees will return in the fall.

Library Schedule for May

Monday, May 16, to Thursday, May 19, the library will be open 7:30 am to 11 pm each day.  The library will close to the public at 9:00 pm each night; Phoenix card holders can enter library from 9 to 11 pm.  24 hour access for Phoenix card holders will return in the fall.

Friday, May 20, the library will be open 7:30 am to 9:00 pm.  The library will close to the public at 5:00 pm.

Saturday, May 21, is Commencement day at Elon.  The library will be open 9 am to 5 pm.  Please be aware that parking on campus will be limited in the morning and early afternoon.

Sunday, May 22, the library will be open 6 pm to 11 pm.  The library will close to the public at 9 pm.

Monday, May 23, to Thursday, May 26, the library will be open 8 am to 11 pm.  The library will close to the public at 9:00 pm each day.

The library will be closed on Friday, May 27, for Staff Appreciation Day.

Saturday, May 28, the library will be open noon to 5 pm.

The library will be closed on Sunday, May 29.

On Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day), the library will be open 6 pm to 11 pm.  The library will close to the public at 9 pm.

Tuesday, May 31, the library will resume regular summer hours.

From now to Sunday, May 15, all library computers are reserved after 3:00 pm for Elon students, faculty, and staff.

Friday, May 6, the library will be open 7:30 am to midnight.  The library will close to the public at 5:00 pm.  There will not be 24 hour access for Elon students Friday night.

Saturday, May 7, the library will be open 9 am to midnight.  The library will close to the public at 5:00 pm.  There will not be 24 hour access for Elon students Saturday night.

Sunday, May 8, the library will be open 10 am to 1:00 am.  The library will close to the public at 9 pm.  24 hour access will be available for Elon students Sunday night.

Monday, May 9, to Sunday, May 15, the library will be open 7:30 am to 1:00 am each day; the library will close to the public at 9:00 pm each night.  24 hour access will be available for Elon students each night.

Belk Library Easter schedule

Monday, April 18, to Thursday, April 21, the library will be open regular hours.  The library will close to public each night at 9:00.  24 hour access will be available for Elon students and employees with a valid Phoenix card.

Friday, April 22, the library will be open 7:30 am to 9:00 pm.  The library will close to the public at 5:00 pm.

Saturday, April 23, the library will be open from 9 am to 5 pm.  The library will close at all patrons at 5:00.

 Sunday, April 24, the library will be open from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm.  The library will close to the public at 9:00 pm, and then to students at 11 pm.  There will be no 24 hour access for Elon students Sunday night and early Monday morning. 

 Monday, April 25, the library will open at 9:00 am, and will resume its regular schedule.
