New Read posters debut as Belk Library celebrates National Library Week, April 12-18

The debut of three new Read posters featuring Elon faculty members marks the start of Belk Library’s annual celebration of National Library Week, April 12-18.  This year’s posters feature Chaplain Richard McBride; El Centro director Sylvia Munoz; and engineering professors Richard D’Amato and Sirena Hargrove-Leak.

The posters are on display around the atrium skylight of the Information Commons on the first floor of Belk Library, along with posters from previous years.

In addition to the posters, the library will have several activities going on during the week:

  • Prizes: starting Tuesday, April 14, there will be a daily drawing for books, and at the end of the week, a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card.  To enter the drawing, drop by the Information Desk and put your name in the box.
  • 300,000 book at College Coffee: Belk Library will celebrate the acquisition of its 300,000 print volume, a spectacular book of aerial photography, Earth from Above, by photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand.  Students and faculty will be able to sign this limited-edition book at College Coffee on Tuesday.

The staff of Belk Library invites everyone to visit the library during National Library Week!  Door prize winners will be announced; stay tuned…
