O’Kelly Chapel Record Books
Do you ever wonder who the O’Kelly monument on Elon’s campus was named after? James O’Kelly was the founder of the Christian Church, and a prominent figure in Elon’s history. We have original record books from the O’Kelly Chapel (located in Chatham County, NC), and now these books have been digitized and are available online. To learn more about James O’Kelly, the O’Kelly monument, and the O’Kelly Chapel–click on the link at the bottom of this page.
The site below provides links to the digitized pages and typed transcriptions of the two record books from the O’Kelly Chapel. The original record books have been cataloged and can be found in the Archives and Special Collections at Belk Library and online through the links below. The dates represented are 1857-1924 and 1941-1953.
