Early Morning in Hanoi!

Jet lag is certainly not a thing of the past yet for my roommate, Sam, and I. Up bright and early at 5:30 am this morning, we ventured down stairs to find a padlock on the doors of our hotel, Golden Rice, with the 2 receptionists, with one sleeping on a portable cot and the other on the lobby’s couch. We went upstairs to return again at 6, when we hoped the doors would be unlocked.

Once we made it out of the hotel, we walked down to the lake to see what all the morning fuss we had heard about was. There were speakers directing workouts, which we assumed to be both aerobics and tai chi. People were power walking and jogging with their dogs. Many people were also using the provided weights and workout poles and benches on the edge of the lake. Additionally, many people used the sitting benches for various physical activity. S and I powered walked around the lake for 45 minutes soaking up this beautiful Vietnamese morning.
