Pamela D. Winfield is Associate Professor of Religious Studies and Coordinator of the Asian Studies Program at Elon. She is the author of the award-winning Icons and Iconoclasm in Japanese Buddhism: Kūkai and Dōgen on the Art of Enlightenment (Oxford University Press, 2013), and teaches numerous courses at Elon on religion and visual culture.
