Executive Director, Campus Y at Washington University (St. Louis)

Washington University has enjoyed a partnership with the Gateway Region YMCA for over 100 years through the Campus Y.  This unique branch coordinates over 25 student-run community service initiatives and works in close partnership with the university’s Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement.

Description

The Gateway Region YMCA has an immediate opening for a Cause-Driven leader to provide leadership to the Campus Y at Washington University in St. Louis.  The Campus Y is a student-centered organization dedicated to developing ethical leaders of exemplary character by applying the principles of the Gateway Region YMCA in partnership with Washington University in St. Louis.  500 Students or more participate in our programs each year. The Campus Y is committed to creating a rich and vibrant membership experience for our Student Members through participation in world-class programs.  The Campus Y welcomes 10% or more of first-year students to campus each fall.  We also welcome more than 100 middle school students to the college experience through our two-week college prep program.  This is our 108th year, making the Campus Y branch one of the oldest partnerships in our YMCA.  This is a wonderful opportunity for a motivated, cause-driven leader to join an innovative, mission-based association with an exciting vision for the future.

General Function:

Under the direction of the District Vice President the selected candidate oversees the total operation of the Campus Y branch, including student leadership, volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies. Candidates must demonstrate successful experience in project management, staff supervision/training, program development, fiscal management, volunteer development, board development, and fundraising.  The candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills along with a proven track record of staff development, community partnerships, program supervision and fundraising.
