Coordinator for Community Engagement, UNC Wilmington

The Office of Student Leadership and Engagement at the University of North Carolina Wilmington is currently searching for a Coordinator of Community Engagement.  The complete job description can be found here. The application deadline is Friday February 10, 2017.

Position Summary:

The Coordinator for Community Engagement reports to the Director of the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement (www.uncw.edu/osle) and is responsible for the following duties:
•Recruit, hire, train, supervise, develop, and evaluate student volunteers (Engagement Guides);
•Collaborate with nonprofit and community agencies to provide awareness of issues and cultivate, market, and assess experiential learning and service opportunities for students;
•Plan, execute, and assess signature community service programs, including but not limited to: the annual Volunteer Fair, Halloween Carnival, Stop Hunger Now, Adopt-A-Family, Angel Tree, Young at Heart, Dean of Students Days of Service, and American Red Cross Blood Drives in conjunction with student volunteers (Engagement Guides);
•Create and implement Community Service (Break) Trips program;
•Serve as a liaison to faculty who are interested in service learning and students and student organizations who seek service opportunities;
•Work with the Assistant Director for Leadership Development Programs to create and implement leadership development opportunities that align with the Social Change Model of Leadership and other community engagement philosophies;
•Work with Assistant Director for Fraternity & Sorority Life to counsel the 29 chapters, particularly the new member educators on leadership development and assist with the creation and implementation of leadership and service opportunities;
• Serve on Division and University committees as assigned by the Director or Dean.
