The Coordinator will maintain current and develop new strategic partnerships with community-based organizations, while also collaborating with Center for Experiential Learning staff and programs to develop service-learning and academic internship opportunities. The goal of this position in the Center for Experiential Learning is to enhance our service-learning and academic internship opportunities significantly through developing strategic partnerships. This position will work closely with the director and program coordinators in the Center for Experiential Learning.
Minimum Qualifications:
– Master’s Degree in Education, Community Development, Public Policy or a related area is required; 3- 5 years experience working in the community or in education with community organizations is required. – Previous professional or volunteer work within faith-based community agencies is required.
– A background in Higher Education and working with community organizations is preferred. – Experience with college students and community-based organizations is preferred. – Demonstrated understanding of experiential learning and experience with civic engagement programs and community agencies is essential. – Ability to embrace, promote and articulate the University’s Jesuit Catholic identity. – A commitment to academic excellence, social justice and service, values-based leadership, global awareness and diversity. – Ability to work effectively with undergraduate students in a holistic manner with an enthusiasm for providing student-centered services in the Ignatian tradition. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: – Works closely with community-based organizations to foster service-learning and academic internship opportunities, with a focus on strategic partnerships with community agencies, such as Misericordia and Catholic Charities. – Tracks community partner relationships based on student placements in service-learning/internships and involvement with university programs. – Collaborates with Center for Experiential Learning staff to develop programs that foster more experiential learning opportunities and outreach to community organizations for capacity development. – Develops student skill-building experiences in community agencies with a focus on service-learning and academic internships. – Maintains and develops experiential learning opportunities (service-learning, academic internships, research) for Loyola students in community-based organizations. – Facilitates student and community organization connections with key strategic partners, prioritizing Misericordia and Catholic Charities organizations. – Collaborates with the Service-Learning Coordinator, Academic Internship Coordinator, ePortfolio Coordinator, and Undergraduate Research Coordinator to foster community partnerships and develop experiential learning opportunities in the community. – Develops community partnership tracking mechanisms utilizing the RamberLink job posting system. – Develops reports on community partnership tracking to improve partnership development. – Serves as a resource for faculty, staff and students regarding community partnerships connected with Center for Experiential Learning programs. – Facilitates Social Justice Internship Program with Loyola students at Catholic Charities and Misericordia Heart of Mercy – Teaches UNIV 390 Internship Seminar with cohort from Social Justice Internship Program – Provides students and faculty information about community partnership experiential learning opportunities. – Targets key student populations and creates opportunities in the community with strategic partners, thus increasing both service and internship opportunities. – Coordinates experiential learning opportunities and information with key university offices, such as Office for Community Service and Action, Office of Mission – Works with Director to create and implement community partnership assessment measures as well as gather and analyze assessment data on community partnerships. – Prepares an annual report on community partnership assessment data. – Plans, coordinates and implements capacity development events for community agencies, such as the annual Community Partner Gathering, fall and spring recruitment fair. – Promotes key community partnerships with experiential learning opportunities across the University. – Performs related duties as required.
