Introduction to Chris Beaton
Intro Blog
About Me
My name is Chris Beaton, and this is my beginning introduction to the blogging world. I am a Junior Marketing Major at Elon University, with minors in Accounting and Communication. I was born and raised the great state of Vermont, and have made my way down to North Carolina to attend Elon. I interned at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters last summer doing data analysis work, and I hope to obtain an a marketing internship somewhere in Vermont or Boston this upcoming summer.
Why Marketing?
I’ve decided to take this Integrated Marketing Communications class partly because of the great things I’ve heard about Professor McAlhany (I promise I’m not a suck-up), but because of the opportunity to work and make an actual impact with real clients and businesses in the community. I’ve never been a fan of lecture classes and taking PowerPoint notes for an entire class, which is part of the reason I decided to major in marketing. Although I’m not necessarily sure what direction I want to take my professional career, I love working on and improving the relationships between companies and consumers. I’d love to work in a marketing or sales department for a growing and innovative company after I graduate next year, although I prefer not to think about leaving Elon at all. I’m excited to start this blog and see my growth throughout the semester, and I hope those who read this enjoy reading about my thoughts and opinions on the world of marketing.
