In Spring 2017, fourteen students joined the Design Thinking Studio in Social Innovation as the first program cohort. These juniors and seniors came from majors in public health, arts administration, environmental studies, anthropology, and different areas of communication. They worked closely with the faculty members to learn and practice design thinking, social innovation, and Scrum project management, while doing creative design challenges and working in the Burlington community of health and wellness projects.
This first cohort of students christened themselves the B•HIVE, with the slogan “Be Human-centered, Be Innovative, Be Visionary, Be Empathetic.” Learn more about the B•HIVE here, and meet the students here (the B•HIVE site is under construction and will be continued by the Spring 2018 cohort!).
