Attend a GBA Meeting

If you are a student member of the Greensboro Bar Association (GBA), you may attend one GBA meeting for free. GBA meetings are held once per month and alternate between lunch and dinner meetings.

Attending a GBA meeting is a wonderful opportunity to network with our legal community.

The first meeting is coming up on Thursday, September 17 during lunch. Please sign up for that meeting using the link below no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday (9/14) if you would like to attend Thursday’s meeting.

FOR LUNCH MEETINGS: Please note they usually last until 2:00. If you are unable to attend due to class conflict, please do not sign up for a lunch meeting.

Using the link below, you may sign up for any of the 2015-2016 meetings, but you may only sign up for one meeting.

The first five students to sign up for each meeting will be able to attend. The GBA pays for each person who has RSVP’d, so please let me know ASAP if you are unable to attend after you have signed up.

Here is the link to sign up: http://vols.pt/tuT6bD

We’re using VolunteerSpot (the leading online Sign-up and reminder tool) to organize our student GBA Sign-ups.

Lawyer Assistance Program – a resource for Elon Law students!

Law school is stressful. The Lawyer Assistance Program (LAP) provides comprehensive assistance for law students. Whether you just need help coping with day-to-day anxieties, or you are suffering from drug or alcohol problems or serious depression and suicidal thoughts, the Lawyer Assistance Program is here to help. There is no issue too big or too small. LAP’s assistance and any contact with them is free and confidential.
One of the primary goals of the LAP is to provide assistance to law students before any of these problems become debilitating. Contacting the LAP before a problem escalates is one of the best investments you can make, which is why they offer counseling, support, and referrals to any North Carolina law student seeking their services. They also provide guidance and assistance with the character and fitness portion of the bar application.
If you are suffering from drug or alcohol problems, depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues, you are not alone. The quicker you recognize the issue and ask for help, the quicker you will be on the road to recovery. Contact the LAP today at http://www.nclap.org/law-students or call them in Charlotte at 704.910.2310 (ask for Cathy), in the Piedmont at 919.719.9290 (ask for Towanda) or in Raleigh at 919.719.9267 (ask for Nicki).
