National Business Law Scholarship

Brown, PC is now accepting applications for the firm’s National Business Law Scholarship, a $500 stipend which will be awarded to a second or third year U.S. law student with a demonstrated interest in business law. The award will be paid directly to the student, and can be used for any expenses related to legal education, including but not limited to tuition, room, board, books, bar review courses, or commuting expenses.Candidates should submit a cover letter summarizing their interest in business law to Kristen.Brown@brownpc.com. Cover letters should also include the following information:

  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Street, City, State & Zip Code
  • Phone Number
  • University Name & City, State
  • Student ID
  • GPA (minimum 3.0)
  • Expected Graduation Date

Candidates are encouraged to submit, along with their letter, any documents demonstrating their interest in business law. Documents might include a transcript or class schedule showing business law courses completed or currently enrolled in, a letter of recommendation from a business law professor or a letter from someone who supervised the applicant in a business law-related job or internship.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, December 5, 2016 and the award will be announced on Friday, December 16, 2016.

Farar Law Group Legal Scholarship

Farar & Lewis LLP – is pleased to announce our new scholarship – specifically geared towards law school students and political science students.

In order to apply, write a 500+ word essay, on why an education is important. Give us examples of how you’ve persevered through the obstacles in order to get an education. What have you learned from these challenges, and how will that prepare you for the challenges you face as a student in a higher education environment? Show examples, and defend your answer.

This scholarship can be used for any school related expenses, such as tuition and books.

Participants must meet the following criteria:

  • Participants must be enrolled at an accredited college, or university in the U.S.A.
  • First maintain a cumulate Grade Point (average (GPA of at least 3.0 (or equivalent))
  • Submissions must be received by 2/5/2017

Jacoby & Meyers Scholarship

Submit Your Essay for the 2016 Jacoby & Meyers Scholarship Competition!
As America’s most recognized law firm we are always looking to identify and reward young, talented individuals that are eager to succeed and make a difference.

In 2016, Jacoby and Meyers will endow a scholarship for law school or undergraduate college students who demonstrate the highest level of acumen. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a single student to help support their efforts in continuing their education.

Any law school or undergraduate student attending a four-year accredited university is eligible to apply. Please submit an essay of up to 1,000 words (maximum) answering the following question:

“How do you plan on making a difference using your future law degree?”
Scholarship Details:

One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded.
Applications will be reviewed by the Jacoby & Meyers team.
Criteria for selection is originality and quality of submission.
The deadline is Dec. 15th 2016 by 5pm PT. There are no extensions.

2017 Baker Donelson Diversity Scholarship

The 2017 Baker Donelson Diversity Scholarship Application Is Now Available!

Application deadline is June 17, 2016.

Baker Donelson is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where the individual differences among us are understood, respected, appreciated, and recognized as sources of strength of the Firm. These qualities enrich the environment in which we work. With this in mind, Baker Donelson will again award three scholarships to diverse law students who will complete their first year of law school by June 2016. Recipients will be awarded a six-week, salaried 2L Summer Associate position for the summer of 2017 in one of our Firm’s offices. Additionally, each recipient will be awarded $10,000 which will be paid prior to the student’s third year of law school to help defray the cost of law school tuition and related expenses.

The Reeves Law Group Scholarship

The Reeves Law Group is offering a scholarship to future law students in their senior undergrad year, and students currently in law school. Each year, The Reeves Law Group awards a scholarship to a deserving student and future lawyer who delivers a winning presentation or authors a winning essay in our annual scholarship contest. This year’s scholarship award amount is $3000.

This year’s scholarship is a great opportunity, students are asked to tell about their genuine desire and goal of using the legal system to fix problems or improve conditions in our society. Last year there was a great response from this so they increased their scholarship amount and would like to give more students the opportunity to participate.

Public Interest Awards: Deadline Extended!

APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR PUBLIC INTEREST AWARDS EXTENDED TO MARCH 31!

This year, Equal Justice Works’ National Advisory Committee is presenting awards to law students at Equal Justice Works member schools in eight regions who have a demonstrated commitment to public interest law and pro bono work.

The Equal Justice Works Public Interest Awards seek to identify and honor law students who have provided extraordinary service through law school clinics, volunteer work, internships, and/or extracurricular projects. Recipients will be honored during an Award Ceremony with a commemorative plaque and $250.

The North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys would like to bring to your attention a diversity scholarship opportunity offered by DRI.

Applicants must meet certain criteria, including but not limited to:

Currently registered as a full-time, rising (2016–17) second-year or rising third-year law student at an ABA-accredited law school, identified in this application, or an evening student who has completed one-third or more of the total credit hours required for a degree from the law school they currently attend.

Scholarship for Single Parents in Law School

At Biancheria & Maliver P.C., we understand what a rewarding and fulfilling career a law degree can provide, especially for a single parent and their family. We also understand the financial strain that comes along with years of higher education. In order to help single parents working toward a degree in law, the medical malpractice attorneys at Biancheria & Maliver P.C. are offering one $1,500 scholarship to a short essay contest participant. Our goal is to help single parents pursue their goals and relieve some of the financial burden of higher education.

To apply, please include your professional resume, work history, education institution, and current/most recent GPA, along with a brief essay of 200 words or less about what you plan to do with your law degree. This can include where you plan to practice, what type of law, small or large firm, your inspiration for choosing to practice law, etc.

We will grant one applicant a $1500 scholarship to be used on tuition, books, or other school related expenses.
